Setting up Facebook APIs
*To complete this a user must have Admin access to Facebook Ads and Super User access to Vistadash. Clients can provide Vistadash temporary user login credentials.
*Make sure to complete all parts of the setup.
*It is recommended to use a private/incognito session
Part 1 - Facebook
1) Log into Vistadash and click on the Gear in the upper right then click on Setup Stores.
2) Select the store to be configured and click on the Wrench icon.
3) Select the Social Media tab. Input the field to complete your Facebook URL.
Example https://www.facebook.com/vistadash

Part 2 - Facebook Insights
1) Then again in Vistadash and click on the Gear in the upper right then click on Setup Stores.
*Make sure to log out of Facebook
2) Select the store to be configured and click on the Wrench icon.
3) Select the Social Media tab
4) Select the option Facebook Insights, then click the Login with Facebook button.
*If reconnecting first removes any current token information first using the trash can
5) Click the “Continue as (Username)” button
6) If your Facebook page is linked to a Business Manager, a screen appears that shows all the list of businesses associated with the user. The user should be able to check mark the one he wants to provide access to and click Continue
Note: If your Facebook page is not linked to a Business Manager, the process will skip this step and go to step 7.
7) A screen appears that shows all the lists of the FB pages associated with the user. The user should be able to check mark the one he wants to provide access to and click Continue:
8) A screen appears that allows the user to grant permissions to Vistadash. All permissions appearing on the screen should be granted. Then click Done.
Note: Vistadash will only use the “Manage” permission(s) in order to being able to access the Facebook Insights data and display it in its dashboard. It won’t write or edit any data whatsoever.
9) When setting up Facebook Insights feed for a second dealership within the same group, the screen appearing in item 5) will be slightly different. The user should click the Edit Settings button instead of the Continue as (Username) button in order to see the list of pages.
10) In that case, the user should be able to check mark the FB page he wants to provide access to but should not uncheck any of the FB pages selected in previous setups. Then click Next.
11) Grant permissions to Vistadash as indicated in step 8.
12) The Access Token will be generated with the Facebook Insights data. The Access Token is stored in Vistadash and the data is updated automatically every day.
13) To check the data generated, select the option Engagement > Social > Facebook. This tab shows the widgets: Post Reach, Recent Posts, Net Likes, Likes by Source, and Page Likes for the current month.
Part 3 - Facebook Ads
1) You will need to log out of Facebook again.
2) Go to the Gear → Setup Stores → Social Media and select the option Facebook Ads.
*If reconnecting first removes any current token information first using the trash can
3) Click the Login button.
4) Input Facebook credentials and Login in the pop-up window.
5) Once the Access Token is generated, the Ads Accounts drop-down will show all the Accounts available for your user.
6) You should select the specific Ads Account you want data to be pulled from and click Save Ads Accounts.
7) The Access Token is stored in Vistadash and the data is updated automatically every day.
8) To check the data generated, select the option Engagement > Social > Facebook > Ads
